In the organizational culture seminar with Dr. Karla Basurto Gutierrez, I better understood and developed a better appreciation for other cultures and practices. I must hasten to state that this class gave me a greater understanding of my research dissertation whereby values, artifacts and assumptions are correlated.
As the consultant for the Northeastern Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, I am expected to reflect the organization’s standards across the constituency. With a multiplicity of diverse cultures and languages and a membership of over sixty thousand, worshipping in one hundred and eighty-four churches, I must articulate positions to the benefit of each local congregation. It became easy after attending the organizational cultural class, where tips were embraced.Â
