Personal Reflection

Now that the end is near, I can conclude this doctoral degree program served me extremely well. I’m excited by the common thread of values expressed in the course’s inception to date about Seventh-day Adventist World view. I have encountered so many things which can be applied in my consultancy business venture, as well as my personal and communal spiritual sojourn. It cannot be denied I am still on the way to keep on learning how to implement the acquired tools and skills appropriately to make Malala Management Consulting LLC a successful and relevant service enterprise. It is also true I encountered some difficulties throughout the sojourn; however, they were immaterial in consideration to the overall program. The following aspects will be taken into consideration in this positional response. They are Cognition, Skills, Judgement and Feelings.

Concerning Cognition, in my own experience I reckon I have learned many interesting things. Managing different tools and programs, the fact of being the CEO of Malala Management Consulting LLC, contracted as a project management consultant with the Northeastern Conference Corporation of Seventh-day Adventist. The most fascinating way to learn was absolutely having the opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues thus putting in practice a new way of learning in order to reach my own autonomy. In terms of easiness, I am of the mind some things were easier to learn than others because I could manage smoothly whereas other topics required more ‘trial and error’ technique.

As regards skills, this is related to the above paragraph; that is, managing tools and programs, solving my own problems and improving my performance by trial and error. I consider the way I learned was by experiencing, making mistakes, and looking for the alternative approaches and possible solutions.

Regarding judgement, I guess my personal development was enhanced with this degree program in a way that allows me to deal with stuff that is highly vital for the growth and development of my business venture. Considering my potentials as a project consultant, this learning experience helped me to be aware I must be ready to constantly ‘update’ myself, especially with statistical issues to provide clients with meaningful learning and data. I dare say this learning experience was valuable for me since I was able to handle several things all by myself and that way of learning is likely to be anchored in my mind.

Regarding feelings, came hidden strengths I discovered about myself. I’ve concretized the thought of myself as a leader, that was brought to fore by the various group think-tanks that were organized in class, I found that I am a good leader. I communicate my ideas to the group while trying to balance the ideas of others so the group can come to an agreed upon decision. Obviously, this can benefit me no matter what challenges are in my future path or any career opportunity I decide to go into, because the ability to take control of a situation and remain diplomatic with colleagues is an asset to have. Other than this, I can’t think of any other strengths I discovered.
